What a wet day at Pleasant Hills for our June meeting, but it was cosy inside the hall finishing off their projects as can be seen by our photo collage.
Our next meeting in July focuses on the Japanese Art of Embroidery combining Sashiko (a simple running Stitch) with Boro, the practice of reinforcing a textile using scraps of fabric. A necessity in Medieval Japan that evolved centuries later as a distinctly gorgeous artform. Create dramatic and unique designs whilst learning to embrace imperfection. This is a great way to use up your scraps. Or if you prefer you are welcome to continue working on your unfinished project.
BYO: Hand Sewing Needles, Thread, Scissors, Ruler, Your choice of Fabric Scraps. Sewing notions and Sewing Machine if not doing Sashiko & Boro.
$7 Hall hire, Your own lunch.
