About Pleasant Hills

Pleasant Hills is a small village in the Lockhart Shire, New South Wales, situated in the rolling wheat belt of the Riverina. With a population of around 200, it is a tight-knit community where neighbours know each other by name and the monthly newsletter is essential reading.

The town is home to a public school, preschool, general store, post office, Anglican and Catholic churches, Memorial Hall, and the Pleasant Hills Showground. Community organisations including the Country Women's Association (CWA), the Sporting Club, and the School P&C are the backbone of local life.

Surrounded by productive farmland, the district produces wheat, canola, and sheep — and the seasons shape the rhythm of life here.

About this site

This site was created to bring the Pleasant Hills monthly newsletter online — making past issues searchable and accessible to anyone with an interest in the community, whether you live here, grew up here, or just want to know what's on.

The newsletter has been produced by local volunteers for many years. This site is maintained by a local resident and is updated each month when the new issue is published.
