August is the month where we allocate our money which we’ve raised in the past twelve months.
Riverina Group Council Meeting was held on the last Monday in July, and some members attended.
We are looking at holding a Cake Stall at Bunnings on Friday, 28th August.
In the Land Cookery, we had a Chocolate Butter Cake, which was won by Heather Barrett, second was Lyn Jacobsen. In the Senior section for next month, it’s a Plain Butter Cake and a GF Jam and Coconut Slice.
Next month we also have the Children’s Cooking – 8 years and under, Melt & Mix Choc Chip Biscuits; 12 years and under, Ginger Coconut Slice, and 18 years and under, a Neapolitan Cake. All ages are as at 31st March, 2027.
Our next meeting will be held at the Pleasant Hills School on 12th August starting at 10am! As this is our International Meeting and we’re studying Fiji, we will be cooking several Fijian recipes for lunch, and members of the public are invited and most welcome to join us for lunch, roundabout 12.45pm. You will also hear what our School Students have learnt about Fiji in their presentation to us.
We held our July Meeting in Albury. We will get a plaque made to put on the cupboards we have put in the Hall, saying we donated it.
Since we have some helpers, we are going to run the Food Stall in the pavilion at the Henty Field Days on the Wednesday.
We are aiming at putting on a skit on at our Group Cultural Day on Monday, 10th August at Ganmain.
We had some members attend the Group Council Meeting on Monday, 27th July in Wagga.
Fijian Recipes were handed out for members to cook for our International Day at Pleasant Hills School in August. We have forwarded paperwork to the school about it.
We have had more recipe books printed so we will have some to sell at the Field Days. These have created ongoing sales since our Birthday.
We were invited to attend a talk at Orana on legal information for older people and one member attended.
Bev McLellan enjoyed a day at Coolamon creating some Christmas decorations, which looked like great fun!
